Item description
Pre-viewed for quality and everything looks almost new.
This solemn sci-fi thriller is set in a 19th century village whose insular, fearful inhabitants have formed an uneasy, unspoken truce with the monsters that live in the woods that surround it. The village elders forbid anyone to go beyond the perimeter but Lucius (Joaquin Phoenix) becomes determined to defy them. The people have grown up here afraid, never leaving to see what's beyond.
Lucius is in love with blind Ivy (Bryce Dallas Howard, daughter of Ron), who is also loved by the village idiot Noah (Adrian Brody). Except that it's Ivy who finally enters the woods and is soon hearing scary noises coming in her direction...
The payoff is sort of like that 'Twilight Zone' episode 'A Hundred Yards Over the Rim'.
