Item description
Vintage original 27x41 in. US one-sheet poster from the classic 1940's WWII spy-themed war/adventure romance, GOLDEN EARRINGS, released in 1947 by Universal Pictures and directed by Mitchell Leisen. On the eve of World War II, English officer Ralph Denistoun (Ray Milland) is in Nazi Germany on an espionage mission to recover a poison gas formula from Prof. Krosigk (Reinhold Schรผnzel). He is helped by Lydia (Marlene Dietrich) and her band of gypsies and a romance develops along the way. The cast includes Murvyn Vye, Bruce Lester, Dennis Hoey, and Quentin Reynolds.
Printed for the film's US theatrical re-release by Universal Pictures (in the 1950's or possibly 1960's), the image features a large portrait of co-stars Ray Milland and Marlene Dietrich at the top with artwork depicting a fight scene at the bottom. Unrestored and folded as originally issued, it is in fine- condition with corner pinholes; light signs of wear in the borders; and extra fold line; and a few small areas of separation at the crossfolds and along the center fold line.
