Item description
Vintage original 11x14 in. US lobby card from the classic 1950's western drama, THUNDER OVER THE PLAINS, released in 1953 by Warner Bros. and directed by Andre De Toth. It's 1869, Texas has not yet been readmitted to the Union, and carpetbaggers have taken over the state. Federal Captain Porter (Randolph Scott), a Texan, has to carry out orders against his own people. He brings in the rebel leader whom he knows is innocent of the murder for which he is charged. But in trying to prove his innocence, Porter now finds he is a wanted man. The cast includes Lex Barker, Phyllis Kirk, Charles McGraw, Henry Hull, Elisha Cook Jr., Hugh Sanders, Lane Chandler, James Brown, and Fess Parker.
As indicated in the bottom right corner of the background area, this is lobby card #4 from the set of 8 cards. The image features Captain Porter (Randolph Scott) looking serious while talking with Joseph Standish (Elisha Cook Jr.). It is unrestored in fine- condition with pinholes, staple holes, and signs of wear in the borders; a Canadian censor stamp near the upper right corner; and a small scratch in the center of the upper background area. There are no tears, stains, or other flaws and the color tints are fresh and vibrant without any signs of fading.
